| Shane ranked The Walking Dead The Game #2 of 165 |
|---|
May 17, 2012 Telltale games has a reputation for making cool, fun games. Usually they are episodic and feature well known pop culture franchises like Sam & Max, Back to the Future and Bone... This is a 5 part series and so far I have finished episode 1 a couple of times. This is mostly a point and click graphical adventure with some action scenes. It's set in the comic book version of the Walking Dead so you won't get to meet up with Darryl (most likely) but you do get to hang out with familiar char... Full Review |
| Shane ranked Pirates of Black Cove #66 of 165 |
|---|
March 28, 2012 Pirates of Black Cove is game developed by Nitro Games and it's very much a pirate themed RPG, whereas similar games that look and feel like this are open world RPG with a business/trading sim play style. You won't be trading goods to make money or controlling a fleet of ships. You follow a storyline although you have choice when choosing which factions to side with. I've played my share of pirate themed games, in fact the original Sid Meier's Pirates! From way back in 1987 was one of m... Full Review |
| Shane ranked Star Wars: The Old Republic #114 of 165 |
|---|
March 16, 2012 Star Wars The Old Replublic Technically it's a sound MMORPG, it's just too bad I've gotten far away from MMORPGs. I used to be into them. I played Star Wars Galaxies which was actually really well done until they completely overhauled the game mechanics to make it line up with the WoW template. Which is what The Old Republic reminds me of, which most every MMORPG reminds me of. I played Wow for like 8 months. Then I stopped, in fact then I gave up on all MMORPGs. I don't fault Bio... | Shane ranked Alan Wake #3 of 165 |
|---|
March 5, 2012 Alan Wake developed by Remedy Entertainment, written by Stephen King [citation needed] has been brought to the PC. You play Alan Wake a writer with writer's block who goes to a Silent Hilly type seaside getaway with his wife. You meet some of the colorful yokels, and get a good feel for the small town. The opening episode acts as a 'tutorial', which is played out in a nightmare sequence. You get to know the controls, and the rules as you progress through the episode before jumping into ... | Shane ranked Microsoft Flight #135 of 165 |
|---|
March 1, 2012 I have to admit, I'm not much a flight sim type of gamer, but the price is right so I have to give Microsoft Flight a chance. Last MS Flight game I played, Flight Simulator way back when and, If I recall correctly, I couldn't manage to get the plane off the runway. So I really didn't take to the genre. My ADHD addled brain is about to give Flight a go, but from the look of the trailer, it's not so much hardcore simulation then it is arcade like. I ran through the tutorial, it was ok,... | Shane ranked Grand Theft Auto: Vice City #61 of 165 |
|---|
February 25, 2012 Back in the old days Grand Theft Auto 1 & 2 - the original top down games, were just about the most fun you could have on the PC. Sure the missions were fun to pull off and picking a gang to try and win their favor was cool, but you cannot stop progress and then came GTA III. And that was an accomplishment and I give it the respect that is due, however I enjoyed Vice City on such a higher level. Sure, without III there probably wouldn't have been a Vice City, yet Vice City was so much more ... Full Review |
| WWE Raw is a LETDOWN for Shane |
|---|
February 21, 2012 Back in the early 2000s I was into pro wrestling. No, I didn't wrestle, I watched WWF(now WWE) and WCW and it was all good pure innocent fun. Sure it was stupid, but as a kid wrestling was just part of my likes. Then video games came along, and my ability to partake in virtual worlds and whatnot was fulfilled. I loved the EA NHL hockey games, the RPGS like Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale. And around the same time, I had my wrestling video game fix from the N64 console - THQ presented me wit... Full Review |
| Shane ranked Portal 2 #4 of 165 |
|---|
February 19, 2012 Let me start by saying Portal 1 was an awesome game. Now having already played Portal 1 and most of Portal 2's first half feels like a tutorial to me (which, yes it was, but I wants that portal gun fully unlocked already!). So, I am going into Portal 2 with high expectations and won't be happy if even the smallest detail is left out - ie. Mike Patton better return! Sadly he doesn't, according to IMDB, but the Cave Johnson character was a good pick me up. Portal 2 is my type of perfect g... Full Review |
| Shane ranked Mount & Blade: With Fire & Sword #139 of 165 |
|---|
February 19, 2012 Mount & Blade: With Fire and Sword (M&B:F&S) is the latest stand alone open world conquest style game. The original M&B was a good solid game, though it had limits, that were addressed in the second installment M&B: Warbands - specifically you could run your own kingdom. Oh and it had multiplayer where you could battle others people, but the massive battles were only a part of what makes the game fun, and so the multiplayer portion was completely ignored. It's the early game where you re... Full Review |
| Shane ranked Trapped Dead #138 of 165 |
|---|
February 19, 2012 Trapped Dead is another game featuring Zombies, and oh the groans! I can hear them now but I'm right there with you. I am sick of either bad zombie games, forced additions or games that just ram zombies in them i.e. Plants vs. Zombies. What I do like is a good zombie game and this is one of those. Touted as the first tactical zombie survival game, I picked this up on steam which described it as Commandos (an extremely under-appreciated game IMFA opinion) with zombies. That's all I needed...
